“Saturdays Are for Road Trips” is a collaborative photography project by Frank Juárez and Pat Ryan that began in May 2021. Juárez and Ryan have been photographing together for one and a half decades. This is the first time that they have collaborated on a special project that spanned from May 2021 to May 2023 with a mutual focus on capturing one of the most difficult times in our lives. The photographs in this book range from abandoned structures to harmonious repeated patterns found in objects and nature, and urban landscapes to the people who continue to move forward with their lives.

The images in this photobook and exhibition, “Saturdays Are for Road Trips”, is a small collection of photographs that were selected from a pool of thousands of photos taken during this 2-year timespan.
