The Joy of Traveling: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Feature image: Pittsburgh, PA. Photo: Frank Juárez

Since early June I have been to 5 states; a mixture of business and pleasure. Traveling is always fun with a camera in my hand. I tend to see the world differently behind the lens.

My first experience traveling with fellow photographers, Jonathan Fritsch and Pat Ryan was in 2014 when we went on a Midwest road trip visiting artists in their studios for the Midwest Artists Studios Project . Since then we have taken several trips. This summer our journey took us to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with no specific agenda other than hanging out and taking photos.

We stayed at an Airbnb in Lawrenceville, which is about 3 miles northeast of downtown Pittsburgh. Lawrenceville is a trendy and desirable neighborhood with a population of about 10, 000. I probably could have used another couple of days to explore.

About Frank Juárez’s The Joy of Traveling

Since 2021, I have been publishing posts about my travels. When I see small opportunities to get in the car or hop on a plane, even if it is for a couple of days, I’ll pack my bag. Photography has been my way of seeing the world, engaging in new experiences, and putting myself in a different mindset to continue being inspired by the places I visit and the people I meet.
