The Joy of Traveling: From Wausau, Wisconsin to Minneapolis, Minnesota

This past weekend was my fall break from teaching. Three days with no commitments or deadlines meant a quick getaway to the Twin Cities. To break up the 5-hour drive, we drove to Wausau for an overnight stay, and the following day, we visited the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum for a quick tour of their artist-in-residency facility with Rachel Hausmann Schall, artist residency and adult program manager, and to see Birds in Art 2024. As soon as our tour was over, we headed to downtown Minneapolis to eat, drink, and see more art. A big thanks to art educator/artist Karri Dieken for guiding us through the creative community of Minneapolis.

If you find yourself in Minneapolis, there is a fun art event called Art Attack! 2024! at the Northrup King Building, November 8 – 10, 2024.
