The Joy of Traveling: Door County, Wisconsin

As I write this last blog post for the summer of 2024, I reflect on the places I visited, the people I met, and the things I saw. This truly was one of my best summers. There is a lot of beauty out there. Beauty for anyone to experience. But you do not have to go far to find it or ‘break the bank.’ We connected with friends, stayed at our usual spot, strolled through downtown, and saw how fast these cities and villages have grown since our last visit.

In the three days we spent ‘up nort’, we packed as much as we could into our days. Being surrounded by nature, especially at the Peninsula State Park and Whitefish Dunes State Park, felt peaceful. A reminder that there is so much out there that needs to be explored and experienced.

About Frank Juárez’s The Joy of Traveling

Since 2021, I have been publishing posts about my travels. As an art educator, I find it difficult to travel for long periods during the school year. However, when I see small opportunities to get in the car or hop on a plane, even if it is for a couple of days, I’ll pack my bag. Photography has been my way of seeing the world, trying new experiences, making photos that hopefully encourage others to travel, and, frankly, putting myself in a different mindset to continue to be inspired by the places I visit and the people I meet along the way. Each post includes recommendations of places to eat, drink, stay, and visit.
